Head Coach Bio

Sean Wimer

Sean Wimer, a 2001 Stevenson graduate, is the winningest coach in program history, with a record of 429-176-1 through 19 seasons. He has guided the Patriots to the IHSA state tournament 16 times, winning the championship with a 36-0 record in 2017. He also has five runner-up state finishes (2013, 2015, 2016, 2023 and 2024) and one fourth-place showing (2014). Wimer’s teams have won 12 sectional championships, including eight in a row through the 2019 season.

As a student-athlete at Stevenson, Wimer earned All-America honors during his junior and senior seasons, and was named the 2001 Illinois Water Polo Player of the Year. He earned four varsity letters in water polo and swimming. After graduation, Wimer played for Loyola Marymount University for four seasons.
