Tryout Dates
Location: Vernon Hills High School Tennis Courts (due to the construction taking place at the Stevenson Courts)
- Monday, Aug. 12
- 4 - 6 p.m. (Frosh; Soph)
- Tuesday, Aug. 13
- 4 - 6 p.m. (Coach-selected Frosh & Soph; Juniors; Seniors)
- Wednesday, Aug. 14
- 4 - 6 p.m. (ALL LEVELS)
- Thursday, Aug. 15
- 4 - 6 p.m. (ALL LEVELS)
- Friday, Aug. 16
- 4 - 6 p.m. (ALL LEVELS)
Important Notes:
- All participants are expected to be at ALL the appropriate tryouts.
- All athletes should wear athletic attire and suitable shoes.
- Bring a healthy snack and two filled water bottles.
Transportation:
Beginning Aug. 12, there will be a weekday bus from Stevenson High School to tennis tryout/ practice location (VHAC) that leaves Circle Drive at 3:35 p.m. The bus will return to Stevenson High School after practice. Parents can pick up their child at tennis tryout/practice (VHAC) or Stevenson High School.

Coach Balase is currently working at Glenbrook Racquet Club where he leads and assists with lessons and programs. His coaching experience also includes serving on the staff at North Central College in Naperville, IL and working at Peter Burwash International in California. He is a graduate of Schaumburg High School and Judson University, where he competed in high school and NCAA college tennis. He also received a master's degree in leadership studies with an emphasis in sports leadership in 2019 from North Central College. (we can use the same photo from boys’ tennis).
