Head Coach Bio
Head Coach Bio
Emma Degen
Emma Degen was named head girls golf coach in May 2015. She served as an assistant coach in the program for two seasons (2011 and 2014) before being elevated to head coach. She also serves as head coach of the girls track and field team, and is the co-head coach of the Allied Basketball program.
Degen led the Patriots to back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018. Stevenson finished fifth in 2018, after taking 12th the previous year. The team won nine consecutive North Suburban Conference championships and has qualified for the IHSA State Finals every year since 2017.
Degen played the sport for four years in high school and four years at the college level. At Lake Zurich High School, she was a four-year member of the girls golf team. In 2006, during her senior season, she was named team captain and went on to earn Most Valuable Player honors after qualifying for the IHSA sectional tournament. Degen continued her playing career at Winona State University in Minnesota, where she was a member of the team for four years and earned all-conference academic honors in 2008.
