Patriot Wellness Center

Welcome to the Patriot Wellness Center, where Stevenson High School students are invited to support their wellness journey. While the Patriot Wellness Center is utilized for Physical Welfare classes during the school day, all Stevenson students can access the facility after school and on the weekends. During these after-school hours, students will have access to a wide range of exercise machines, free weights, ongoing wellness classes, turf training space, multipurpose fitness studio, a sprint track, athletic training and physical rehab, and more.

During the school day and after hours, students are also welcome to the Patriot Wellness Center to simply meet and connect — especially around the gathering stairwell. Whether students need to get in a workout, stop for a healthy snack or get together with fellow students, the Patriot Wellness Center is here to support their wellness journey.

After-School Hours

Monday - Thursday: 3:30 - 8 p.m.
Friday: 3:30 - 6 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Things Students Need to Know

Students must bring and swipe into the facility with their Stevenson ID.
Lockers will not be available after hours.
Late buses will be available Monday-Friday.

Our Purpose

At Stevenson High School, social emotional learning is an essential part of the teaching and learning experience we strive to deliver. This is because we believe that student learning and growth is much more than the acquisition of knowledge; it is also the development of the social and emotional skills our students will need to thrive in the world once their journey at Stevenson ends.

With this in mind, it is the Patriot Wellness Center’s ultimate purpose to empower our growing student and adult population to embrace their wellness journey and the four pillars of wellness: mindset, sleep, nutrition and movement.

In addition to its 90 exercise machines, 14 full racks of free weights, turf training space, multipurpose fitness studio, a sprint track, athletic training and rehab, and more. Students will also have access to ongoing wellness classes such as yoga as well as education on a variety of wellness topics, such as sleep, nutrition and stress management. The Patriot Wellness Center is also home to a fuel bar that offers nutritious food and beverages as well as a gathering stairwell where students can gather and connect.

What is Wellness?

Wellness is an individualized process of identifying and practicing the skills that facilitate physiological and mental health, and reduce barriers to performance in all areas of life.

Our wellness efforts center on four pillars of health. And in order for students to achieve optimal physical and mental wellness, these pillars of wellness should be viewed as interdependent and equally integral to their health and wellness.

Mindset: Mindset is the foundation for growth, consistency and, ultimately, our ability to balance stress and our emotional state while incorporating wellness practices into everyday life.
Restoration: Sleep quality and consistency directly impact learning, mood, energy and physical and mental performance.
Nutrition: Food fuels daily vital functions and plays a key role in our metabolic and mental health.
Movement: Physical activity enhances biological processes that support physical and mental health, vitality and longevity.

At the Patriot Wellness Center, our students will be able to leverage our programming as a way to incorporate these pillars of wellness and form habits to support wellness in their lives.

PWC Programming

We prioritize programs that welcome students of all skill levels, goals, and preferences.

The Patriot Wellness Center is an exciting and inclusive space for all students to participate. Student safety is our priority while we foster competence and confidence in movement ability to support physical and mental wellness and performance.

Wellness practices are overwhelmingly positive. Engaging in the PWC community creates a sense of vitality and improves physical and mental health. Our community builds resilience, develops confidence, and helps balance stress. Join our community!

Movement Programs

Certified fitness and wellness professionals create our programming. Join any of the following for free daily. To join anytime, enter the PWC on the second floor, check in with your ID, and ask one of our staff (wearing PWC t-shirts) to direct you to your choice of programming!

Open Gym

Open Turf

All students are welcome to utilize the turf, meet with friends, bring their own sports equipment or balls, and move together. Our fitness coaches help students navigate the turf space to improve physical and mental fitness.

Monday - Thursday: 3:30 - 8 p.m.
- When the turf is not reserved for organized activities, it will be used for fitness from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., with open turf starting at 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Intro to Fitness Clinic

Meet new friends and learn how to move your body using the PWC equipment and spaces with others who are just beginning to use movement to support physical and mental health. No prior experience is needed; you can bring friends or join independently! You will participate in a guided workout with one of our certified Wellness Coaches and discuss what wellness means to you!

Daily: 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Daily Fitness Clinics

Daily Fitness Clinics are appropriate for all skill levels and help you build upon and reach your goals. Clinics are quick, fun, and keep you coming back for more! Our PWC staff will direct you to the daily fitness clinic or chat with one of our Wellness coaches in the PWC!

All clinics begin at 3:45 PM
- Monday: Upper Body Focus
- Tuesday: Lower Body Focus
- Wednesday: Jump and Speed
- Thursday: Strength Focus
- Friday: Build Muscle and Improve Performance

Pilates, Yoga & Zumba

Pilates, yoga and Zumba are moderate strength and mobility-building programs in the beautiful PWC cardio fitness studio on the third floor of the PWC. The studio creates a welcoming and relaxing space to balance stress and move into your body. You will build strength, endurance, mobility, and flexibility in a 45-minute certified instructor-led class.

Pilates --- Thursdays: 3:45 - 4:45 p.m.
Yoga -- Mondays and Fridays: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Zumba --- Tuesdays: 3:45 - 4:45 p.m.

Personalized Coaching

Our certified Wellness Coaches will talk with you, one-on-one, to discuss your goals and then develop a plan to help you reach them. Start where you are on your wellness journey. Our coaches will help you develop new wellness habits, including movement, nutrition, and restoration so that you can thrive.

Patriot Performance Training (PPT)

Patriot Performance Training (PPT) is a large group strength and conditioning program that coaches strength, speed, agility, and athleticism. Participants improve their athletic ability on the PWC turf while using dynamic equipment in an engaging one-hour training session incorporating games and competition.

You must register for PPT and pay a registration fee of $10. Please note that this program is offered only during the Winter season.

Fitness Club

Fitness Club welcomes all students and skill levels, from beginner to advanced, to discuss wellness topics, including mental health, nutrition, movement, and restoration. Then, the group does a workout together.

The Fitness Club aims to create an inclusive and diverse community that supports the Wellness of the Stevenson community. This is a space to meet and connect with students from diverse backgrounds, including those starting their wellness journey, and learn from others ready to share their experiences. Meet new friends with a shared interest in wellness!
