Nominations

• Nominations may be submitted by any supporter of Adlai E. Stevenson athletics.
• Nomination forms may be submitted at any time, but must be received prior to the nomination deadline to be considered for induction in the current school year.
• Once an individual has been nominated, his/her file will remain active and he/she will continue to be considered for induction each year.

Guidelines

The committee will induct an inaugural class that is appropriate for the volume of nominations that are received in the first year. In years to follow, there will be a maximum of five inductees per year.

Selection Eligibility

• Nominations will be accepted for any athlete, coach, team, staff member or supporter who through their commitment, sacrifice and dedication to the Adlai E. Stevenson athletic program have brought pride and distinction to our school community.
  • Stevenson High School reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct which reflects dishonorably upon the school.
  • Nominees may be considered posthumously.

Athlete: At least seven years post-graduation. If they did not graduate from Stevenson High School, they need to have attended for a period of two years.

• Suggested Benchmarks for Consideration:
  • Championships – team and/or individual
  • All Conference, State, American
  • Statistics
  • Multiple Sports and Awards

Coach: At least one year after their exit from the sport. If they are still an active coach, they should have coached for at least 10 years, regardless of sport.

• Suggested Benchmarks for Consideration:
  • Record
  • Conference, Regional, Sectional, State Titles
  • Multiple Sports and Awards

Staff Member or Supporter: At least five years of service/support to Stevenson athletics.

• Suggested Benchmarks for Consideration:
  • Years of service
  • Indicators of how the service improved the athletic experience at Stevenson High School

Team: At least seven years after the team season.

  • Championships
  • Statistics
  • Unique accomplishments

Selection Process

Nominees will be rated by each member of the Hall of Fame Committee, which consists of the following members:

• The current Athletic Director
• A current Adlai E. Stevenson High School administrator
• A former Adlai E. Stevenson High School athletic staff member
• Two head coaches, one male and one female, in the Adlai E. Stevenson High School athletic program
• Four members of the Adlai E. Stevenson High School athletic community

The current Stevenson Athletic Director is responsible for inviting members to serve on the Hall of Fame Committee.

Inductees will be contacted by a member of the Hall of Fame Committee.
